Retirement and Care Homes Music Project
Sadly due to Covid and administration problems, this Project is currently on hold. [Updated May 2023]
The Project recognises that people in homes of various kinds are mostly unable to travel to hear live music events. Narberth Jazz plans to record live events, edit them, and screen to the participating care homes at a suitable time of day. The afternoon, around 2.00 pm, appears preferable but would be flexible.
Many residents have dementia, so attention spans can be limited. But music has a wonderful way of evoking memories. Viewers will be able to see members of the audience to feel part of the local event.
The project may be linked to live on-line screening of events that Narberth Jazz would like to make available for those people unable to attend evening events or who are isolated at home.
In the future a link will be formed with the Young Musicians Project to bring live music into care homes to entertain residents.
